Man Charged with Prostituting the Mother of his Child, With Baby in the Car

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle announcing the results of a multi-agency undercover operation initiated by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force. Fernandez-Rundle says 27-year-old Pablo Casademunt has been arrested. Also involved in the overall operation were the Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD), South Miami Police Department (SMPD), U.S. Secret Service (USSS) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigation (HSI).

“Investigations of possible Human Trafficking often lead to some very unusual and very sad situations,” said State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.

She adds, “Allegedly selling the mother of your child and bringing the child along for the ride is a new low in an area of criminal conduct. I applaud the members of my Human Trafficking Task Force and those agencies assisting the Task Force for handling the entire situation with great propriety and with great sensitivity.”

Casademunt was arrested after an undercover detective placed a phone call to a sexually explicit advertisement with the alleged purpose of arranging a $350, thirty-minute, “date” for sexual contact with the advertised female. Upon Casademunt’s arrival at a designated hotel meeting place and upon his girlfriend entering the hotel room and receiving payment with recorded investigative funds, Casademunt was taken into custody. At that point it was discovered that the couple’s infant was a passenger secured in a car seat.

Pablo Casademunt is charged with:

• 1 Count of Deriving Support from Proceeds of Prostitution
• 1 Count of Unlawful Use of a Communications Device
• 1 Count of Directing Another to Place of Prostitution
