Residents in Collier, Hendry, and Lee counties are being asked not to burn storm debris by the Florida Forest Service's Caloosahatchee Forestry Center.

According to officials, many people are still without power, and smoke could negatively impact those around them.

The storm debris will be collected separately from the household garbage, and collections will begin in the next few days, providing residents time to get everything to the curb.

Officials also ask residents to set the debris away from the regular household trash and recycling.

Storm debris assessment is already underway throughout the county. MORE
