Students in Miami-Dade could soon be allowed to lose their COVID masks.
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says with cases continuing to drop, the district may continue to relax its COVID protocols.
Miami-Dade is one of 13 districts across the state that has a mask mandate in place, which goes against an Executive Order put in place by Governor Ron DeSantis which bans mandates.
Last month a judge sided with parents saying the mandates could stay in place, but the ban remains in effect while the case is being appealed.
