(Daytona Beach, FL) -- Daytona Beach Police are on high alert as an unsanctioned event called Trucktoberfest is rolling into the city.

Deputy Chief Jakari Young tells WOFL Fox 35 that he first learned of the event on social media last month as it was being billed as a "takeover" event of the city. It was also described as being similar to September's Truck Fest which drew complaints from residents to the Daytona Beach Shores Police about large gatherings and underage drinking.

Both agencies say they have canceled all vacations for officers through the weekend and will add staff to each shift to deal with crowds and increased traffic in both cities.
