Erin Moran has died. According to a source, the 56-year-old was found dead Saturday afternoon in an Indiana trailer park of a suspected heroin overdose.

Erin was best known for playing Joanie Cunningham on “Happy Days” and later on “Joanie Loves Chachi” with Scott Baio. She was just 14 years old when she became a household name, but she struggled with drugs and alcohol out of the spotlight. She hadn’t had any roles since 2010, and she was living with her husband, Steve Fleischmann, and her mother-in-law in a trailer park.

Erin’s trailer park neighbors remembered her as a friendly person. Arthur Myers said, “She was kind of hyper, full of energy. She’d walk like she was getting exercise. Always in street clothes. She was always friendly and waved, but says he "never talked to her at length.” But toward the end, she didn’t venture out often. David Holt said, “I hadn’t seen her for a couple of months. She kind of hibernated and the end. It’s so sad. She was a good person.”

Erin’s co-stars weighed in on her tragic death. Don Most, who played Ralph on “Happy Days,” said in a statement, “Erin was a wonderful, sweet, caring, talented woman. As I write this I can't really comprehend it. A very painful loss. It gives me some comfort to know that she's with Tom [Bosley], Al [Molinaro], Pat [Morita] and Garry[Marshall]. Rest In Peace, sweet Erin.” Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, and others took to social media to share their thoughts.
