We all have our own unique palate, but there are some foods that seem to be universally loved by everyone. If you try one of them and don’t enjoy it, you may keep sampling that food, thinking you’ll like it eventually, or that you should like it since everyone else does. A Reddit thread has people sharing those by asking, “What food have you tried liking but just can’t?”
These are some of the popular foods they just don’t love as much as everyone else seems to:
- “Wine. Every year I'll try it around the holidays with family and it's still gross”
- “Black licorice. I've accepted that my DNA just can't stand the stuff.”
- “Beer, of any kind. It always makes me very nauseous.”
- “Matcha! Just tastes like grass to me”
- “Olives. I've tried many varieties. I always try them because they look like they'd be good but they're just not.”
- “Spicy food. Never have been able to eat it.”
- “Watermelon. I try it again when someone says "OMG this is the best watermelon," and I can tell that it's a good watermelon but I still very much dislike it. I really wish I did enjoy it.”
- “Liver, the smell alone makes me sick.”
- “Blue cheeses”
- “Most definitely Brussel Sprouts. I've tried them in so many forms and yet I still hate them.”
- “Okra. liver and onions.”
- “I can’t drink eggnog. Every year I give it a shot and try to like it, but I just can’t.”
- “Any kind of Fish and seafood. I just want nothing to do with it”
- “Ketchup”
- “Raw oysters.”
- “Celery”
- “Peeps, the Easter sugared candy. I like to think I can digest anything covered in sugar BUT NOT THAT....”
- “Sushi”
- “Octopus. The texture just isn't for me. I want to like it. The flavor is fine, just can't get over the chewing experience.”
- “Any kind of mushroom, it’s not the texture there is always a taste that I can’t do for some reason”
- “Kombucha, it smells like stinky feet and tastes like vinegar to me.”
- “Tea, I'd rather drink bong water.”
