Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

December 07, 2021

December 7th is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. It was 76 years ago on this date, that Japanese forces attacked the U.S. naval fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor, causing the U.S. to enter into World War II. Over 2400 servicemen and 68 civilians tragically lost their lives during the attack. On top of that, 18 American ships and almost 300 airplanes were either destroyed or damaged by the Japanese bombing.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt described it best, as “a day that will live in infamy.” Today, it is not only important to remember those lost in the attacks, but also important to realize the sacrifices that all men in women in the armed forces make for our country. If you see someone in uniform, or if you know a veteran, thank them for their service! We salute you!
