While there are plenty of people who have found or are looking for love on dating apps, the experience isn’t always a good one. Well, now a new survey reveals just how bad it can get for some folks.
A new poll by Manifest finds:
- 72% of dating app users say that over the past six months they’ve blocked another user at least once for inappropriate behavior.
- 62% have actually reported the inappropriate user to the platform.
- 93% of users have deleted a dating app in the past six months, but it’s not necessarily because they found love.
- In fact, only 14% of people say they deleted an app because they found a match. Other reasons include:
- Bored with the app (25%)
- Stressed from using the app (18%)
- Didn’t feel safe on the app (11%)
- Didn’t like using the app (9%)
As for why people go on dating apps in the first place, curiosity is the top reason (29%), followed by:
- Convenience (19%)
- Boredom (15%)
- Loneliness (12%)
- Hope (12%)
- Looking for a rebound from recent heartbreak (5%)
