Woman Thought She Won $100 In Lottery, But It Was Really $1 Million
She settled for buying Powerball tickets after missing the cutoff time for Mega Millions and that made her a winner.
When Nicole Argent headed to a convenience store to buy a Mega Millions ticket in St. Louis County, Missouri, she got there three minutes after the 8:59 cutoff time. So she settled for a couple of Powerball tickets. Well, that was a smart move because she picked winners.
Argent initially thought one of her tickets matched all four white ball numbers and that she’d won $100. Not too bad, right? But when she headed to cash it in at a store, workers had to turn their computer screen around to show her she was off by a few zeroes.
It turns out, Argent matched all five white ball numbers and the Powerball number, so instead of winning a hundred bucks, she actually won a million dollars! What a great mistake to make!
