Firefighters Save Man's Life Then Finish Laying His Sod
Melissa Work wants to see these first responders recognized for helping her family
Greg Work and his brother were laying sod at Greg’s home when Work had a heart attack on Saturday. He was under pressure to get the job done before his HOA was going to lay a big fine on the family. During his heart attack he asked wife Melissa to figure out how to get the work done.
Greg’s brother, Gene, stayed back after first responders took care of Greg and got him to the hospital, saving his life. Gene began to lay the sod again when he heard trucks driving down the road. It was the fire and ambulance crews descending on the house and getting to work laying the sod.
The heroes had no idea about the fine or Melissa getting ready for a bone marrow transplant, they just knew it was the right thing to do. Melissa wants to make sure these men are recognized and posted the story on Facebook. She noted "They simply saw someone in need, something in need and did this for us. This wasn't in their job description. We have no words. Just sobbing."
