Woman who turned to Twitter when she needed a date to her sister’s wedding ends up marrying the stranger who comes to her assistance.
When Lila Apostolou needed a date to her sister’s wedding back in 2014, she put her request out there on Twitter. She tweeted, “Are you a man? Can I borrow you for a wedding next weekend?” and it ended up changing her life.
A guy named Phil Gibson replied to her tweet saying, “I can do this, I’ve got a suit and everything.” After that they exchanged some flirty banter, and while they didn’t end up going to her sister’s wedding together, they did meet in real life that week and things took off from there.
Now, almost three years to the day later, the happy couple tied the knot! She tweeted, “I jokingly wished to marry him, having not even met him, and it happened. Still blows my mind.” Congratulations, Lila and Phil!
