Teen’s father was killed in the line of duty in 2013, but dozens of his fellow police officers came out to see her off to her senior prom.
Prom night will be one Sierra Bradway never forgets, thanks to officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Her father was one of those officers until he was killed in the line of duty in 2013. But his colleagues came out to support the teen on the night of her high school prom.
The Decatur Central High School student was planning to take her pre-prom photos at her father’s grave, and that’s where the officers showed up and surprised her. Colleagues of her dad, Officer Rod Bradway, say he “did everything for his kids.”
Next to Sierra in her some of prom pictures is IMPD Chief Bryan Roach, smiling next to the teen as she holds a photo of her father. Other snaps show dozens of police officers and sheriff’s deputies surrounding the teen. And before she left with her date, they reminded him to “Have her home by 11 p.m.!”

Doctors said she’d never walk, and now she’s running with her school’s running club.
Clementine White was born with spina bifida, a condition that affects her ability to move. And even though doctors said she’d probably be in a wheelchair for life, she’s recently taken up a new hobby: running.
The eight-year-old came home with a form for her parents to sign so she could join Girls on the Run, a running club at school. And they were hesitant at first because they didn’t want her to fail at something she’s interested in, but she joined and now Clementine has run a 5k, surprising everyone but herself.
“If it seems that you can’t do something, you can at least try,” Clementine says. “My doctors said it wouldn’t be possible for me to walk or run. But then I’m starting to walk and I’m starting to run.”
