Survey reveals the gift choices guaranteed to make mom happy on Mother’s Day
- A new RetailMeNot survey finds that 70% of shoppers will buy mom a gift for Mother’s Day this year, with $58 the average amount most will spend
- The number one requested gift by mom is flowers, with 48% of moms saying it’s their top gift choice
- Other top gift choices include a fancy dinner, a gift card, jewelry and beauty products
Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away and folks really need to start thinking about what to get mom if they don’t want her disappointed on the big day. And it seems a lot of folks don’t plan on letting that happen.
A new RetailMeNot survey finds that 70% of shoppers will buy mom a gift for Mother’s Day this year, with $58 the average amount most will spend. Of course getting mom a gift isn’t easy, with 20% of folks saying it’s hard to find the perfect gift. Well, it turns out there are some standard Mother’s Day presents that are sure to please.
The same survey finds that the number one requested gift by mom is flowers, with 48% of moms saying it’s their top gift choice, followed by dinner, with 43% of moms hoping to be taken out for a fancy dinner at a nice restaurant. Other top gift choices for mom include a gift card (41%), jewelry (28%) and beauty products (27%).

Erin Moran died from complications from stage four cancer.
Erin Moran’s body was found over the weekend. She was 58Her death was first attributed to a possible heroin overdose.Early autopsy results show that she succumbed to stage four cancer.
Even though we told you that Erin Moran had died of a suspected heroin overdose, an autopsy proved otherwise. In a joint statement, the Harrison County, Indiana Coroner’s office and sheriff’s department said, “Mrs. Moran likely succumbed to complications of stage four cancer.”
In fact, a source said that the coroner found the gastrointestinal tube that fed Erin during her final days during the examination. In addition, there was ample evidence that of advanced cancer, although the type wasn’t clear. The insider said, “It was indicative when they did the autopsy that she was receiving medical care. There were no illicit substances or anything to suggest foul play.”
At this point, they’re still awaiting the results of the toxicology report, but on last night's edition of "The Insider," Moran's co-star Cathy Silvers - who portrayed 'Joanie'' best friend 'Jenny Piccalo' on "Happy Days" - opened up about Moran's passing. Silvers says it was throat cancer that took Moran. "Her husband told she she didn't want anyone to know," says Silvers. "She just didn't want anyone to feel bad."
