Randoms-First Day of Fall, Cuffing Season, Women Spend little Time Outside

It’s also the beginning of “Cuffing Season” – that period between fall and winter when people look for someone to spend the holidays with – as well as those cold days and nights of winter. And there may be something to it … Researchers looked at the numbers from dating apps ranging from Match to Tinder and found that there’s a jump in users in the fall and winter months. (Best Life)

Are side hustles the new normal? According to a new survey, Millennials are making the most money from their side hustles. The survey found that Millennials made an average of about $11,000 a year from their side gigs. Gen Xers made about 9 grand extra a year and Baby Boomers took in an extra $6,000 a year from their side hustles.

64% of Millennials surveyed said they have a side hustle or have had one in the past, compared to 58% of Gen Xers and 44% of Baby Boomers. 19% of Millennials surveyed said they had more than one side gig, compared to13% of Gen Xers and 6% of Boomers who had more than one side gig. (CNBC)

Get outside! A new British survey found that the average woman only spends 25 minutes outside per day. A third of respondents say their jobs and busy lives prevent them from spending time outside, and 35% say that even when they’re home they’re just “too exhausted” to spend time outdoors.

How about the weekend? More than 50% of those surveyed said by the time the weekend comes, they just want to stay home and relax, while 25% say they have too many errands and chores to do on the weekends to spend time outside.

But most know they need to get outside more … 75% of respondents said going too long without spending time out in nature has a negative affect on their mood. 60% said the fresh air helps them “unwind,” 58% say they feel “happier” when they’re out in nature, 44% said they felt “energized” and “revitalized” after spending time outside, and 33% said they feel healthier when they spend time outdoors.
