Man allegedly on meth crashes delivery truck into South Florida Publix

Haines City, FL. - A man was arrested for crashing a delivery truck into the back of a Publix and telling officers he smoked meth.

According to police, 51-year-old Michael Calvo was making a delivery in the back of a Haines City Publix when his truck tore an awning off of the building and hit an unoccupied vehicle.

Police say Calvo’s truck pushed the vehicle 200 feet, totaling both vehicles.

Officers say when they approached Calvo, he thought he was being “pranked” by a TV show and refused to exit the truck.

When asked if he fell asleep at the wheel, Calvo told officers he'd "was smoking my meth pipe."

Calvo was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
