From the cities of Westchester to Hialeah to downtown Miami, Miami Heat fans were rejoicing well into Monday night clanging pots and pans and honking horns in celebration of their team, their city and county. Miami is making its seventh Finals appearance after handling the Boston Celtics 103-84 in Game Seven at TD Garden. The Heat held a 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals before losing three straight games to the Celtics. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a best of seven series in NBA History.
Cody Martin erupted for 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Miami to the series win. Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 28 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals.
The Heat will visit the Denver Nuggets for Game One of the NBA Finals on Thursday. Tip-off at 8:30.
