Combs delivered a rendition of “The Beaches of Cheyenne,” a 1990s track by Brooks. The “Friends In Low Places” icon wrote the song with Bryan Kennedy and Dan Roberts. Brooks was honored at the annual Nashville Songwriter Awards, hosted by the Nashville Songwriters Association International on Tuesday (September 20) at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brooks earned the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award. Other honorees of the evening included Songwriter-Artist of the Decade Taylor Swift and Songwriter of the Decade Ashley Gorley. Combs performed, along with Jordan Davis, Little Big Town, Parmalee and Alana Springsteen, to name a few.
Combs will be performing at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Festival this September, and fans can tune in and watch live via an exclusive stream each night on September 23rd and 24th on The CW app and CWTV.com. The CW Network will also broadcast a two-night television special this October.
