Florida High Schooler's American Flag Torched, Then Replaced

BROOKSVILLE -- A Florida high school student gets a new American flag for his pickup truck, after someone set his old one on fire.

Several students were hanging out in the parking lot of Springstead High School in Hernando County Monday, when they noticed an American flag on fire. It was in the bed of Senior Curtis Chancey's 1977 Ford pickup. A teenager was seen running from the burning flag.

Deputies arrested a juvenile the next day on an arson charge.

Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office presented Chancey with a new American flag.

to replace the one that got torched.
