The city of Delray Beach is requiring employees to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

Staff members will have until August 30 to comply

Those with health, religious and other legally covered reasons are exempt, but those employees would then have to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing, which would be administered by Delray Beach Fire Rescue.

Delray Beach is also one of several Palm Beach County municipalities requiring masks to be worn inside government buildings. Others include Boynton Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and the county itself as the delta variant of the coronavirus keeps cases surging across the state.
