Tim McGraw's New Video Asks Fans Who They Call First With Good Or Bad News

Tim McGraw asked his fans who they turn to first when they have either good or bad news to share. The country star turned to Instagram on Wednesday (July 1) to share some of the responses in a sweet video.

The clip begins with McGraw sitting outside strumming his guitar before transitioning into footage sent in by fans sharing who they turn to in times of celebration and sadness. Some mentioned their moms or dads while others shared stories of their grandparents and best friends.

"Thank you for sharing your stories... and thank you to all of the mamas, dads, best friends, and other champions on the other line when we need it most!!" McGraw wrote in the caption, adding, "Let’s keep it going."

McGraw's question to fans was inspired by his recent single, "I Called Mama." The song written by Marv Green, Jimmy Yeary and Lance Miller, serves as a reminder that simply the sound of a loved one's voice can be just what you need during both good and bad times.

"I thought of home, grabbed my phone from my pocket/ And I called mama," McGraw sings, continuing into the second verse with, "It rang a couple times, and she picked up/ I can always hear her smile when I call/ I just called to tell you that I loved you."

"It's a great reminder that hearing someone's voice who knows you and loves you can help you get through anything," McGraw previously said of the song. "I think it's at these very difficult times that music can help and the power of a song can give someone a moment of clarity or comfort, or just a smile. Especially now, when we seem to need it more than ever."
