Suspended Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper Is Reinstated

It's back to work for suspended Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper, who has been reinstated by Governor DeSantis after being acquitted in her corruption trial. The order allows Cooper to return to office for the remainder of her term which expires next November. Cooper was removed from office the day after her arrest in January of 2018. While she was awaiting trial, voters elected Joy Adams as mayor to serve until Cooper was either reinstated or her term ended. Cooper could return to the dais as early as next Wednesday which is the next Hallandale Beach City Commission meeting.
